The Moto 360 is an Android Wear-based smartwatch announced by Motorola Mobility in 2014. It was announced on March 18, 2014 and was released on September 5, 2014 in the United States along with Moto Hint and new models of Moto X, Moto G.
Hardware and design
The Moto 360 form factor is based on the circular design of traditional watches. It uses a circular capacitive touch display, as well as a steel casing and a removable wrist band. The watch is also confirmed to be water resistant and have wireless Qi charging. The watch also has an ambient light sensor and a heart rate sensor. But Moto 360 may be thicker than the current Android Wear smartwatches.
The watch supports wireless Qi charging, has a single physical button, vibration motor, heart rate monitor, and is water resistant.
Software
The 360 runs Android Wear, a version of Google's popular Android mobile platform specifically designed for the wearable market. It integrates Google Now and pairs to an Android 4.3 or above smartphone for notifications and control over various features.
